Get betterat whatmatters.
PastorLabs is a six-week cohort where you step away from the weekly demands of ministry and work on the ministry itself. Eight pastors, three calls, and one thing you’re ready to make better.
Where do you want to grow?
Each lab is six weeks and three calls with a few other pastors, working one real problem until it's better.

Bring method to the madness.
Every Lab follows four steps. We face what’s real, imagine what’s possible, and do the work to make it happen.
- 01
Define Reality
Face the brutal facts.
- 02
Design the Future
Build a better way.
- 03
Put It to Work
Turn good ideas into real change.
- 04
New Reality
Re-evaluate and fine-tune.
The lab doesn't end when the sessions do. Every lab includes a follow-up check-in after you've had time to put the work into practice, so you're not left on your own with it.
- Ideas are cheap. Practice isn’t.
- Nobody sees their own blind spots.
- Real work beats good intentions.
- Pastors get better around a table.
Become a better preacher by Easter.
You preach every week. But how often do you get to work on your preaching?
Step outside the weekly sermon cycle and sharpen your craft. Get honest feedback, discover your blind spots, and develop a better way to prepare and preach.
Move discipleship from a value to a reality.
Most churches have sermons, small groups, and programs. But are they actually making disciples?
The Discipleship Lab helps you move beyond good intentions to build a clear, repeatable approach to discipleship. Work alongside other pastors to identify the gaps, rethink your strategy, and create a pathway that moves people from attending church to following Jesus and making disciples.

Josh Martin
PastorLabs came out of a realization and a hope. I realized I just crossed twenty years as a pastor, and I hope to get twenty more.
In 2006 we planted a church in Pullman, Washington, and I served there for fifteen years: planting churches, going multi-site, building a network, training pastors. For the last five years I’ve led a hundred-year-old church in San Diego. The work here has been church revitalization, church growth, scaling discipleship, and now a merger.
By God’s grace, I’ve learned a lot along the way. The best of my growth came from small groups of leaders who pushed me to work on the work. I want to spend the next twenty years doing that for others, helping them get better at what matters while remaining rooted in Jesus and His church.
